Dell is working closely with Google in collaboration and today announced its new enterprise-focused Chromebooks under the Latitude brand.

“The new Latitude 5300 2-in-1 and 5400 now come with secure and seamless Chrome Enterprise. We paired trusted devices and ProSupport with a cloud-native experience you’ll love.”

Chromebooks meet the growing demand for the enterprise consumer due to the platform’s lightweight Chrome OS and security features.

Chromebooks have been successful in the education sector primarily due to its affordability. Chrome OS tops the list of platforms in this sector, along with individuals and small businesses. 

‘We worked intimately with Google to meet the expectations of a large enterprise and create the ecosystem to support it. We are actively engaging with enterprise customers about Chrome.” Dell VP Brett Hansen told ZDNet.

The new Chromebooks from Dell provide traditional laptop as well as 2-in-1 form factor. They ship with Intel Celeron, Core i3, Core i5, and Core i7 processors, 4 GB to 32 GB of RAM, and up to 1 TB of NVMe SSD storage.

The latest Dell laptops support Linux apps in addition to Android apps, as with other existing Chromebooks.

In addition, to support for Chrome Enterprise, Dell provides a Unified Workspace program that lets IT admins manage devices from the cloud plus Dell ProSupport 24/7/365. Dell is also offering additional G Suite.
